What this is and Why it Matters

You're ready to try Claude. Maybe you've already heard it writes better, thinks deeper, sounds less like a robot. Either way you don't want to start from scratch. You've already spent months teaching an AI who you are.

So you might be tempted to use Claude has a built-in memory import tool. You paste a prompt into ChatGPT and it outputs what it knows about you, you drop it into Claude. Done in 60 seconds.

DON’T DO IT!!!

Most people run into this problem moment they try it: ChatGPT's memory is a mess.

  • Your offers are outdated.

  • It has old ideal client descriptions.

  • Your preferences? Well… it never got those right.

  • Also, your personal stuff has bled into your business context.

If you transfer that directly into Claude, you're not setting it up to know your business. You're starting your relationship with it on a faulty foundation.

This skill cleans it first. You audit what's actually in there, update it to reflect where your business is right now, and bring the accurate version over. Claude learns who you are from conversation one… not conversation fifty (after you’ve spent a bunch of time getting annoyed with technology AND yourself.

Nope. We don’t want that. Do it this way and save yourself the headache.

What you walk away with

  • A Business Context Document saved to your Google Drive. Your current offers, ideal client, voice, preferences, and platform strategy on paper, accurate as of today.

  • Claude's memory updated with the real version of your business (not what ChatGPT thought it knew six months ago)

  • A quarterly check-in system so Claude stays current as your business evolves, including an optional Google Calendar reminder Claude sets up for you inside the session

How it Works

What you’re getting in your email is a Claude skill. A skill is a file that runs inside a free Claude Project. You upload it once, start a conversation, and Claude walks you through the entire memory transfer process step by step.

It tells you exactly when to go to ChatGPT and what to do there. You bring the results back. Claude handles the next step. No PDF to follow alone, no figuring out what to paste where. Claude runs the session with you.

The whole thing takes 60-90 minutes.

But Diamando…. AI is supposed to make things FAST!

I hear you. But you want this done correctly. It will save you so much time down the road and these are resources you absolutely NEED for your business anyhow. The good news is, you can do a lot of this while going for a walk. You don’t need to be staring at your computer while you talk through things.

BEFORE YOU START THE SESSION

Have these ready before you open Claude:

A Google Doc open, titled: ChatGPT Memory Backup — [Today's Date]

ChatGPT open in another tab

Your voice memo app if you want to talk through your answers instead of type them. Speaking out loud surfaces things typing doesn't.

REMEMBER: You don’t need to do this all in one block. You can come and go from it.
Don’t let the time it takes be the reason you don’t do it. Do 10 minutes at a time. You’ll get there.
