It's such an ugly word. I understand where it comes from, but come on, it sounds like something Slimer released in the halls of the library in Ghostbusters.
For those of you who don't know, the word "blog" first appeared in 1999, when a man named Peter Merholz shortened the previously used term, "weblog," into "blog" in his- you guessed it- blog. (Thank you, Wikipedia).
Throughout its now over 20 year history, the blog has become an important staple of our everyday lives. Everyone and their mother seems to have one. This one will be one more to add to the pile. So why should you read it?
Hopefully I will post things that resonate with you. I plan to include recipes, articles, guest writers, and community discussions all right here in these digital pages. I will write about my personal experiences and journey, but hopefully not in a purely self-indulgent way. I want this to be a place for discussion. I want things I post to inspire others who then in turn pay it forward.
Collaboration is so important to me. Everything I do, have done, or will do is inspired in some way by an interaction with someone else. In a time when those interactions happen online more than they do in person, I hope that in some small way, I can bring us out of our virtual lives into true human interaction, even within the confines of a digital environment.
Lofty goals, I know! I have faith in us. If Slimer can do it, anyone can.
